Quartet - by Ron Harwood
The setting for the play is a retirement home for retired musicians and classical performers. Filled with humour, nostalgia and a range of emotions Quartet spotlights the lives of four former opera singers who in earlier days achieved outstanding success with their quartet from Verdi's Rigoletto. They seek to revive their crowning achievement for the annual concert but face insurmountable odds ... or do they? The cast of two men and two women will need to produce some in-depth acting performances. For the audience Quartet will make them laugh, it will make them cry, it will toy with their emotions but hopefully it will leave them spellbound.
