Our next production will be Joyful & Triumphant, written by New Zealander, Robert Lord, and directed by our own grumpy old man, Ian Harrop. This play is set on Christmas Day, starting in 1949 and then sweeping over four decades to finish in 1989.  The cast consists of two men and five women, auditions are to be held on Sunday August 28 from 1.30pm.  The cast: Dad, George Bishop: 52. Road Services depot Manager, a passionate Labour supporter. Mum, Lyla Bishop: 50. A stay-at-home wife and mother.			 Rose Bishop: 28. Dreams of a life of her own but still with Mum and Dad. Ted Bishop: 27. Married to Brenda, 2 children, a bit shiftless, never has a decent job. Brenda Bishop: 26. Brenda’s father is a dentist and doesn’t approve of her marriage. Although publicly supportive of Ted she is privately doubtful of his schemes. Raewyn Bishop: 28. Brenda and Ted’s first child. Five when play starts although not seen until 28, headstrong and opinionated.  Alice Warner: 52, A neighbour of the Bishops, her husband Jack is an accountant. She feels sorry for her working-class neighbours. A true-blue National Supporter.   Also, if you are interested in being part of the wardrobe, stage crew or front of house staff, pop in for a chat and leave your contact details. We need a number of people in these supporting roles, and you will be given training where necessary. Evening wear can be provided if necessary.
